Let's Talk About Books

This blog is intended for IW staff to share points of view and comments about what they are reading. You can write about favorite books, authors, fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, etc. What are you reading? The focus is to have a dialogue about reading for pleasure and to share our literacy focus with other adults at work. Read On, IW!

This list is only a suggestion...a starting point.

For Fiction readers--
1. What are your feelings after reading the book?

2.What is the author saying about life and living through this book?

3. How is this book like (or not like) your own life?

4. Do any of the characters remind you of friends, family members, or colleagues?

5. What are the best parts of the book? the worst?

6. Did you like the ending of the book? Do you think there is more to tell? What would you like to see happen next?

7. I would recomment this book to.....

For Non-fiction readers:

1. Why did you chose this book? this topic?

2. What information did you learn from this book?

3. Did what you learned have an impact on your thinking? (either socially, emotionally, or spiritually)?

4. What part of the book was of particular interest to you?

5. How would you characterize this book: information, entertaining, well organized, difficult to read?

6. What questions do you still have about this topic after reading this book?

7. I would recommend this book to....
